Histology of Selective Success

I was intrigued by the colours and textures on the side of these stairs in the process of being constructed. They reminded me of slides used for histology. I also ended up thinking about how upward mobility in terms of succeeding in life, is for some people, in terms of being able to use the steps available to them, whilst others may not be lucky. Yet these same people with all the abilities needed, still end up with extra scaffolding or support.
